would you be willing to pay more taxes?

If, and this is a big if,

If, they could guarantee that the extra tax revenue would go to reduce the debt and secure the social security system for the futures of our children and beyond, I believe that a majority of Americans would in fact support a tax increase however so far we have seen nothing to make us believe that they can do what they say they would do.

They make promises then get into office and then they conveniently forget they made the promise.

The facts are clear, most people would likely agree to pay more taxes if they knew that without fail that money would be used effectively to reduce our national debt, I suspect that there are a lot of people that would pay a great deal of money to help out our nation in its time of need, however without a fail-safe method of insuring that the money is not piffled, away as it has in the past, most people are not going to be OK with raising “TAXES” or “REVENUE” but and I really think this is accurate.

If it was put down in black and white, and under penalty of imprisonment, fines and jail time, (were one dime to go missing or be unaccounted for then most Americans would be for a tax increase) it is our way, to help out in times of need.

The thing is that we have not seen that level of assurance over the last 50 years, yes, that means that we have had many presidents that have failed to manage our debt effectivly.

However we do know a few things that will work, and we have seen it work in the past, so the only real way forward here it so do something great, and not a great bargain, but a great thing, something that the consitution would approve of doing, ballancing the budget, not on the backs of the people but by saving money that does not need to be piffiled away.

This can be done without threatning the old people or the halt and the lame, this can be done without threatning our brave soilders who wage war so that we may be free.

It is nonsense to threaten the old and the lame, and the sick and the blind and the disabled, that is horror and should not be.

Our nation has the resources, we have the intellect, we can manage our energy we can manage our resources so that we can pay our bills, we do not need this ignorance in our society.

  1. What we need, is a flat tax rate, (allowing for the poorest amoung us to be provided for)

  2. We need a ballanced budget amendment.

  3. We need, a modest TAX increase and a bill to keep congress from wasting our money.

  4. We need to take care of our old and our hurting people, and it can be done, we are not broke, but we have been acting stupidly.

  5. We need a capitol Tax holiday, to free up capitol, 30 days should do it.

  6. We, need to take back our nation from the FED…

  7. We need to work together so that our children may have the opprotunity to play together not be slaves together in the future, that is what we need, the only question that remains is do we have men on Capitol hill that will stand up for what is right?

That is what we need to do, it is so simple yet, our politicians are so concerned with loosing face, that they cannot find a way to work together, acting like children on a playground rather than working together, this includes the white house as well, because they have made mistakes here as well as anyone else.

I truly hope that we can find a way to emerge from this mess with the kind of back bone that our fathers and our grand fathers had when they faced down bullets on Omaha Beach, when they faced down evil and fought that we might have the freedom we have today, if we fail in this how many dead will have given their lives in vain?

Millions and millions of Men, Women, who gave everything so that we might be free, would have been silenced for no other reason than pride?

Are we so vain in our own minds that we cannot see the total ignorance and vanity of this behavior?

Stand tall because that is what is required, what if our grandfathers had not faced down evil in 1944 and 1945 would the world not be different today in a very horrible way?

If we allow American to fail, because we did not have the back bone to stand up against ignorance and opression then the voices of millions of slain Americans will cry out from the earth.

We simply cannot do less than those who gave everything so that we might have the chance to be free from ignorance.

More hope and more change or just the same old thing?

For 50 years, the Democrats have been telling the old folks, you know senior citizens that one day the Evil Republicans would one day cut their social security checks, but guess what it has happened two times and the democrats were in the White house, not the republicans.

Do not fall for the same old lies the democrats have been telling you for 50 years, its time you knew the truth the democrats are the ones to fear…

We are not the ignorant unwashed masses of the past, we are as smart and as educated as anyone, yet those that “think” in their own minds that they are someone more intelligent and can only figure out what no one else can figure out. It is interesting to watch some of these people who think that they are smarter than anyone, but in the end is not human nature not far removed from what it was at the beginning?

Received this by email, published in its entirety.

How long will people believe that this is what they voted for?

Remember when Lucy would tell Charlie Brown that she would not pull back the football and he would believe it every time, and right at the last moment she would pull that football back and you just knew that Charlie Brown was not that stupid, you know, that Charlie would wake up and figure it out.

The funny thing is this, That was back in the 1970s and perhaps most people were really that dumb or at least the liberals liked to think they were so much smarter than anyone else.

So really, you know what, when we voted in 2008 for hope and change this is not what we voted for and you know what else the liberals in Washington know it too. But they think your too stupid to figure it out, they think that your like Charlie Brown that they can tell you what you want to hear and then at the last minute yank that football back but you know that was so 1970 and things change people are no longer as dumb as Charlie Brown.

Is this the hope and the change you wanted, Tax the Rich but not GE?

Just minutes ago, President Obama delivered what was billed as his “new” vision on the budget. But, watching it I realized his speech was the same old big government path of higher spending, more debt, and massive tax increases. If President Obama wants us to believe he now wants to reduce deficits just 2 months after submitting a budget with red ink as far as the eye can see, then he should propose a new and complete formal budget.

Instead, like his friends on the Left, Obama has launched a full-throated attack on leaders like Congressman Paul Ryan who stand for real budget reform and genuine spending cuts.

Meanwhile, the House Budget Committee led by Chairman Ryan is expected to put a budget bill on the floor of the House for a full vote most likely this Friday afternoon.

Please CLICK HERE to tell your member of Congress to vote to CUT SPENDING NOW by supporting both the Ryan budget and the Republican Study Committee budget.

Neither budget is perfect; for example the Death Tax is not fully repealed in either plan. But, both budgets put our nation on a path toward economic prosperity and genuinely smaller government. That’s why the Left is attacking them so viciously.

Key provisions in Chairman Ryan’s Budget Proposal Include:

* Cuts $6.2 trillion of government spending
* Collects $1.8 trillion less in taxes
* Cuts $4.4 trillion from the national debt compared to the President’s budget over
* the next ten years
* Dramatic overhaul of Medicare which is heading toward bankruptcy while sticking our seniors with fewer and fewer medical options
* Defunds ObamaCare, saving $677 billion over ten years

Key provisions in the Republican Study Committee’s Proposal Include:

* Cuts over $9 trillion in spending over the next decade
* Makes the deepest cuts to discretionary spending of any detailed
House budget plan out there
* Balances the budget by the year 2020
* Defunds ObamaCare, saving $677 billion over ten years

Both Chairman Ryan’s and the RSC’s budget proposal include Medicaid reform. Under these proposals, Medicaid funds will be block-granted to the states, which are then responsible for structuring their own programs and tailoring them to their particular needs. Still wondering if we’re making a difference for our values?

It is clear we have dramatically changed the policy debate in our country. A majority of our fellow citizens now agree with us that government spending is too high and the massive budget deficits threaten our economic prosperity. And, do you think President Obama would even be talking about cutting the budget if it were not for us?!

But frankly, it is much harder to pass good legislation than it is to oppose bad bills. That’s why it is crucial for you to get involved now in this budget battle.

CLICK HERE to tell your member of Congress to CUT SPENDING NOW by voting YES on the Ryan budget and the Republican Study Committee budget.

By the way, this Friday, the day when we expect the vote by the full House of Representatives on the budget blueprint for our nation, is April 15 – tax day.

What a great day to send a message that we’re through with the job-killing, prosperity-draining, big government agenda that has for so long animated politics in Washington!

Sincerely,

Tim

PS: Last week during our rally at the Capitol an elderly man from eastern Pennsylvania came up and shook my hand. He was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers baseball cap and man do I hate the Steelers and he had his grandson with him. His grandson looked about my daughter’s age. He said “Tim, I still believe in my country. I still believe my grandson will live in a better, stronger place where he can be anything he wants to be.” That grandfather who took a day away from home to bring his son’s son to Washington said it better than I ever could.

Let’s keep doing our part to make it so. Click here to tell your member of Congress to CUT SPENDING NOW!
