We are facing a serious problem and a threat to how the internet works.
With headlines like this how long will it be before we see toll booths erected online….
You might get a notice on your computer, like the old days of Cell phone towers, (remember back then when you got on some other network you would have to pay like $2.00 per minute) Amazing but true.
Now we are facing something very nearly the same, blocking of internet traffic.
In vengeful move, CBS blocks web episodes for
Time Warner Cable internet subscribers
You know what I really wonder if Cable is all that great these days, they charge a very high price, but then play games with your ability to access the internet.
So have we finally come to the end of the rain bow, where once you were free to do as you pleased with your own computer, you pay to buy the computer you pay to connect your computer to the electrical power, you pay a company to provide you with internet service.
But when it comes right down to it, do you get what you pay for?
When a company decides what you can and cannot see online does that mean that soon we will have some people that say “hey you cant watch the nature channel because we have an interest in its competitor and we don’t like that”
What about commercials, will some people not be able to advertise online if someone has an objection to that?
You see it never ends well for anyone because sooner or later they get around to something that you care about.
We think that when we purchase a service we should get that service silly us, it would be funny if it were on TV, but its not is it.
