When Angels lay dead

This Sat­ur­day a tragedy occurred that is beyond imag­i­na­tion, while the death of a young girl who was an Angel to her par­ents and fam­i­ly, the media was obsess­ing about motives, even the pres­i­dent made a state­ment that was inap­pro­pri­ate, when he made a state­ment about “free soci­ety” that was a polit­i­cal moti­vat­ed state­ment, in some ways, a lot of this trou­ble was cre­at­ed when the Pres­i­dent came out this fall and made cer­tain state­ments, that could alleged­ly be said to have caused this prob­lem.

That is a ter­ri­ble thing, yet the media seems to have not cared about the deaths of these spe­cial peo­ple, who did noth­ing at all wrong, only being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Yet, every group seems to want to make a polit­i­cal point.

There is no polit­i­cal point to be made, the young man was men­tal­ly ill and per­haps there may be some influ­ence yet to be appre­ci­at­ed how­ev­er, to come out and make polit­i­cal state­ments, was a huge mis­take and a ter­ri­ble shame on the office.

Even a sher­iff made state­ments, about speech being an issue, the issue here is that a pub­lic event had no secu­ri­ty present.

Where peo­ple were in atten­dance, that had pre­vi­ous­ly been threat­ened, but no secu­ri­ty, this is the most ter­ri­ble of all things, many peo­ple lost their lives, trag­i­cal­ly, and it could have been pre­vent­ed, had they just hired some secu­ri­ty.

It is like­ly that this could have been pre­vent­ed, more so if even a few police offi­cers had been post­ed at the perime­ter of this event, but sad­ly that was not the case.

A per­fect lit­tle angel passed from this earth this Sat­ur­day, and all the media can obsess about is what moti­vat­ed a sick indi­vid­ual to do this hor­ri­ble thing.

We need to exam­ine what kind of news cov­er­age we all want to have, when death and destruc­tion is the only news cov­er­age some­thing is wrong with the news.

Fam­i­lies are suf­fer­ing and in deep pain, they will lat­er want to see jus­tice, yes, how­ev­er, for now they need the prayers of Amer­i­cans all over the coun­try, they do not need 24 7 news cov­er­age with polit­i­cal pun­dits, obsess­ing about how this or that the­o­ry might be the rea­son behind it, this is a shame and a dis­grace upon the jour­nal­is­tic pro­fes­sion.

Peo­ple need to lay down their polit­i­cal the­o­ries and mourn the loss of life and leave the inves­ti­ga­tions and the­o­ries to pro­fes­sion­als, not polit­i­cal pun­dits.

It is a sad day when we have media that can­not cov­er the news objec­tive­ly.
