Free Enterprise Eggs

Perhaps you may have heard about the recent news story about an [ALLEGED] shortage of eggs which caused allegedly the cost of eggs to rise dramatically.

There was a shortage of eggs in some small parts of the US but this did not have any effect on the rest of the nation, however the cost of eggs went up just about everywhere all at the same time.

This is not the Free Enterprise System…

Just so you know this is a type of socialism, its not a particularly good one either because it has failed everywhere over the years and were not just talking about a few years either were talking about a lot of years and a lot of different places.

Socialism has failed over and over again because of one simple thing…

People are Human…

Corruption follows the human condition and that is why socialism never works.

Just look at what is happening in Greece right now.

That is what you get when you play with socialism.

The idea of a nationwide price for eggs is right out of the socialism play book.

Why?

Because we operate on the free enterprise system which means if there is a shortage of eggs in California it does not effect us here or you where you live, unless you happen to live in California.

However recently a terrible thing happened and that terrible thing was that the cost of eggs went up everywhere all because of a few places where eggs were actually not as readily available.

People just stopped buying eggs and since eggs have a limited shelf life grocers began to quickly understand that they would find themselves with a useless product.

Just have a look at just about any retail location and you will see plenty of eggs.

Lots and lots of eggs.

Media Bias, Media Ignorance?

Is the media being fair in its coverage of this news story?

Many people would like the answer to that question because it appears that they are making a lot out of nothing, is there really nothing else on to talk about?

Is the media becoming the new threat to the American Dream?

This headline, from Yahoo is a good example of a dubious use of fear in an article.  Notice how they say it is unprecedented debt default, but did not Greece do the same thing not so long ago, so is it really unprecedented?  Just curious what the media might be up to with its use of language, are they trying to force something to happen?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Congressional leaders rushed to line up Republican and Democratic votes on Monday for a White House-backed deal to raise the U.S. borrowing limit and avert an unprecedented debt default.

They say that were in a crisis, that things are really bad, that the sky is falling do you really believe those bafoons, (allegedly)

You have to wonder just what is going on inside their heads, (if you could stand it that is)

Is the media trying to produce a run on the banks?

Are they trying to influence the stock market, (is that legal)

What is the objective of the news when they seem to be trying to influence political events with news coverage?

Cut Cap Ballance…

Can it be done, or is it just a dream that politicians might one day stand

up like men instead of weeping and crying like children.

Cut, Cap, and Balance

103 House Republicans sent a letter to House Republican leadership calling for a solution that could resolve the current debt limit impasse and prevent the bigger, Greece-like debt crisis just over the horizon: Cut, Cap, and Balance.

1.  Cut – We must make discretionary and mandatory spending reductions that would cut the deficit in half next year.

2.  Cap – We need statutory, enforceable caps to align federal spending with average revenues at 18% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with automatic spending reductions if the caps are breached.

3.  Balance – We must send to the states a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA) with strong protections against federal tax increases and a Spending Limitation Amendment (SLA) that aligns spending with average revenues as described above.

With each passing day our nation’s fiscal health gets worse, leaving our children and grandchildren falling further into debt. Democrats seem to have given up, proposing even more borrowing in response to our massive debt addiction. With the problem growing larger every day, we must move quickly and unite behind a plan to cut spending and get our budget into balance.
