living off the grid?

Sounds a bit like one of the ter­mi­na­tor movies right?

Well the truth is there are a lot of peo­ple liv­ing off the grid right now and it has noth­ing to do with robots from the future.

The truth is for some peo­ple liv­ing off the grid is not a choice or a feel good moment or a green moment, it is real­i­ty and that is one of the rea­sons why Amer­i­ca needs to have a “Wake up” moment and real­ize that we are still send­ing bil­lions of dol­lars in mon­ey food, med­i­cines, many of which are need­ed cer­tain­ly but there is the very real truth that every night we have chil­dren that go do bed hun­gry.

So, what do we do here, do we pre­tend that it does not exist?

What about in this relat­ed news sto­ry where a court has appar­ent­ly ruled that liv­ing off the grid is ille­gal?

For many it’s a live long dream to get “off the grid” and live self-suf­fi­cient­ly. But unplug­ging from munic­i­pal ser­vices has been ruled ille­gal by a court in Cape Coral, Flori­da.

Spe­cial Mag­is­trate Harold S. Eskin ruled that Robin Sper­o­nis is not allowed to live on her own pri­vate prop­er­ty with­out being hooked up to the city’s water sys­tem.

 

So this is an odd excep­tion and like­ly there is a rea­son for this besides the obvi­ous one.

Still it makes you won­der what kind of world what kind of amer­i­ca we are about to be liv­ing in…
