The truth about the State of Florida, may cause you to be concerned about how the justice department is handled in floriduh.
There have been several high profile cases where the state allegedly over charged the case with little or no direct evidence to prove the facts of the case.
They wanted the Death Penalty in a case they had little chance of winning.
They should have charged manslaughter in the Anthony Case, yet they played games with the rules of evidence (allegedly) and they payed a price for that arrogance.
They could have charged manslaughter in that case and perhaps a lessor charge that would have resulted in much more time and a conviction, but they only manged to get lying to an officer.
You have to wonder what is wrong with the system in Floriduh, the simple truth here is that it appears, (allegedly) that the state attempts to do what amounts to (extortion, they charge as high as they can and tell you (allegedly) that if you plead out the case they will take the death penalty off the table) but they had no case…
In another high profile case, involving a former astronaut, they charged kidnapping, (allegedly) along with a litany of other charges, all of which they could not prove, they could have charged a lessor offense and won, but they chose to do what has become popular in modern justice.
Now we have yet another case that could have been won, had the state only done the right thing.
But there is a problem in florid-uh, were not sure if its in the water or if they are just allegedly incompetent.
Who knows for sure, but the governor should probably find another line of work or clean house and get things right.
You see it is not the duty of the state to play games and over charge the case in hopes of getting a plea bargain, that is not justice that is ignorance.
Right now there are thousands of people in Jails all over the United States, many of which may not have actually been guilty of the crime they were charged with but because they were fearful of what “might happen” they made a deal.
The justice system in this nation is broken, not because the laws do not work but because those people in charge of administrating those laws are not following the spirit of those laws.
This year you have a chance to change that vote those people out of office that make a mockery of the justice department, those that leak details about the case to the press need to go.
That happened in all three of these cases, in some instances, private and confidential documentation was posted online.
It it time to over haul the way these people are working the facts and taking advantage of the system, often for political motives.
We may not always agree about a verdict but when the state attempts to play games and loose that is a problem that needs to be fixed, florida is broken.
